"I think one of the most important things we can do as an industry is create opportunities for young chefs to be seen and heard," shares Cooks the Books presented by Canada Beef host Chef Dwight Smith. "There are so many talented students out there who simply haven’t had the platform or opportunity to showcase what they’re capable of. Events like Cooks the Books help amplify those voices, build confidence, and open doors that might not otherwise be available. Sometimes all someone needs is an opportunity to show the world what they can do."Tap the link in our bio for more from our interview with host Chef Dwight, and to get tickets to the event on October 24, 2026, at Cirillo's Academy! 📚 Coup de projecteur sur la liste des finalistes de Taste Canada 2026 | Généralités

📚 2026 Taste Canada Shortlist Spotlight | General CookbooksIn Arthurs: Home of the Nosh, authors Raegan Steinberg, Alexandre Cohen and Evelyne Eng bring the family-owned Arthurs Nosh Bar’s playful takes on Jewish classics into home kitchens, with more than 115 easy-to-follow recipes. (@babiesandpancakes)Their Matzo Ball Soup honours a dish passed down through generations. "There are two critical criteria by which this soup is judged," the authors explain. "The first is the matzo ball, which we could call the closest thing Ashkenazis have to an American dumpling. It has to be tender and light enough to melt in your mouth, but still retain a firmness throughout, which has more to do with how you shape it than the recipe itself. The second is the chicken stock, which must be golden yellow and crystal clear, “clean” to the palate and the eye."Get their recipe: https://tastecanada.org/matzo-ball-soup/
