These chocolatey energy balls are a regular staple in my home! I simply CAN’T LIVE without them…
The inspiration for this recipe came from my holistic nutrition college friend Jade. While doing a group assignment, Jade brought in similar energy balls to get us through the long day of studying. They were simply AMAZING and kept the study group going! In fact, they were so unforgettable that I have created my own version to share with you!

The best part is that these dark chocolate bliss bits are made with nourishing WHOLESOME ingredients! OMG! You Will LOVE THEM too! I promise!

The sweetener used in this recipe is simply the dates and maple syrup for the glaze

The Aztecs gave cacao the name “yollotl eztil“, meaning “heart blood” because they believed it gave cardiovascular system support.

Don’t forget to soak those nuts overnight or at least for 8 hours. Benefits of soaking them includes reducing phytic acid and tannins. Also, it neutralizes the enzyme inhibitors which increases the production of beneficial enzymes. What the wha? Basically, it makes digesting them easier and it makes the proteins more readily available for absorption.

DON’T add all ingredients to the food processor at once! Add the gluten free rolled oats first and blend. Then add the walnuts, pecans and hemp seeds. After that add the remaining ingredients to make the cacao bliss bits balls.

Hemp seeds are exceptionally nutritious and rich in healthy fats, protein and various minerals.
Make sure the dough turns into a ball. If it’s too dry add a little bit of water. Then start rolling those bliss bits balls! You can use a teaspoon to regulate the size because by hand I typically make them a little TOO BIG …

Dates are rich in nearly 70 bioactive minerals that support our adrenal glands and they help restore peristaltic function in our intestines.

Now let’s move on to the bliss bits ball glaze! The combination of coconut oil, maple syrup and vanilla creates this delicious caramel-like consistency. Dip the bliss bits in the glaze and then on a separate plate roll them in shredded coconut flakes.

TIP! You can place several bliss bits balls at a time on the pan to speed up the process and increase the absorption of the glazed goodness!

YES! Look at these wholesome beauties!!!

You can store them in a sealed glass container in the fridge for a week or you can freeze them for later. Whatever you do, they won’t last – they are just too good! These beauties contain minerals like iron, potassium, zinc and magnesium. They are high in omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. The taste is balanced out with a chocolatey, coconut crunch on the outside and a soft, rich inside. Amazing to enjoy as a HEALTHY snack!

These Vegan Bliss Bits are simply irresistible! Sometimes the word “in moderation” doesn’t apply when these balls are in town.
