Taste Canada Cookbook Literary Festival
Coming Soon, is Canada’s landmark first cookbook festival—bringing together Canadian cookbook authors and culinary literary arts, celebrated leaders in the national publishing industry, and enthusiastic food lovers.
This premier event, in partnership with the Museum of Immigration at Pier 21st in Halifax will open the doors for the public to immerse themselves in delicious experiences, engage with cookbook authors, listen to stories focused on food culture, heritage and tradition and, participate in various workshops focused culinary literary arts in Canada. All activities are designed to fuel the inspiration provided by culinary authors, both in the French and English-languages.
Afternoon Tea with Anna Olson
On November 9, 2025, acclaimed pastry chef, author, and Taste Canada award winner Anna Olson joined Fairmont Royal York Executive Pastry Chef Kapila Amaratunga for an imaginative Afternoon Tea.
Presented in partnership with Taste Canada, this exclusive event showcased culinary creativity and connection in celebration of Canada’s vibrant food community. Guests were able to meet Anna in person, take home a signed recipe card and purchase a cookbook as a keepsake from this memorable afternoon. A portion of proceeds helped support Taste Canada's ongoing programs that champion Canadian cookbook authors and food culture across the country.

Taste Canada is proud to have partnered with the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 to support their exhibit, Eat. Make. Share: A Taste of Immigration. This this collaboration highlighted the deep connection between food, culture, and storytelling—and brought to life the recipes and traditions that define Canada’s diverse culinary landscape.

This bilingual travelling exhibition, created by The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, opened in Halifax May 2025. It will now travel across Canada for the next 5 years in both full-size and mini versions.
The Museum relied on Taste Canada to offer guidance in developing curated recipes from Canadian-Immigrant authored cookbooks. These recipes and promotion of authors can be seen digitally and in print:
Taste Canada x NEXT Food Expo
Taste Canada was proud to present at NEXT Food Expo in Calgary, Alberta, and bring Canadian cookbook authors directly to the public. Through an author-focused panel discussion and a vibrant trade floor booth, attendees had the chance to connect with writers, hear their stories and take home Canadian-authored culinary works.
At the most recent event, held September 8–9, 2025, Lactalis Canada Foodservice presented the Taste Canada panel “A Recipe for Success.” The conversation invited the audience behind the scenes of cookbook creation — from the spark of an idea, to recipe testing, to the joy of seeing a dish published in a finished book.

Bringing Canadian Cookbooks to Life: Connecting Authors, Industry & Food Lovers Through Live Culinary Experiences
Taste Canada partnered with Hudson’s Bay Company and industry leaders to create Inspired to Taste Canada, an interactive in-store experience where Canadian cookbook authors showcased their talent through live cooking demonstrations. These events brought food lovers together, offering a unique opportunity to engage with authors, discover new recipes, and celebrate Canada’s rich culinary storytelling.
From festivals to pop-ups, Taste Canada continues to create meaningful community experiences that celebrate Canadian food culture.
