Let's celebrate Canadian Food & Farmers with CFF

In Canada, we are lucky to celebrate four distinct seasons. Eating seasonally means we get to enjoy each season’s fruits and vegetables at their peak freshness and despite our cold winters, there are many that we can be enjoy throughout the year.

Farmers and plant researchers also continue to improve varieties, growing techniques and technologies to extend the length of time a fruit or vegetable is available. Plus, greenhouses extend the season for some crops like tomatoes and cucumbers making them available fresh year-round.

Check out Canadian Food Focus’ What’s in Season online chart to learn more and to see which fruits and vegetables are in season and at their peak each month. Click on the fruit and vegetables in the charts to learn more about each including types, how to buy, how to prepare and even how they grow in Canada.
