Contribute Content

Taste Canada is currently calling for content submissions from all Shortlist authors — past and present.

As part of our mission, we want to recognize, promote and celebrate your work! As a notable author/publisher of a Taste Canada Award Shortlisted title, your recipes, photos and videos could be featured on our website throughout the year to mark important and exciting milestones.

Content submissions will also be featured on our social media channels for audiences to discover and explore.

As a non-profit organization that supports and recognizes Canadian cookbooks and authors in both official languages, Taste Canada’s mission is to market, promote and celebrate Canadian culinary writing as world class, by recognizing published titles to help define Canada’s food culture, trends, innovation, influences and history.

If you’re interested in contributing content, then here is what you need to know:

Our Audience

A champion of Canadian food writers and cookbook authors, Taste Canada encourages readers at home and abroad to discover diverse recipes and delicious food stories written from a Canadian perspective. All our readers have one thing in common: they love cookbooks, cooking and food.

What We’re Looking For

  1. Recipes: Include a recipe and accompanying photo from the Shortlisted Cookbook for spring, summer, fall, winter or holidays.
  2. Kitchen Tips:  A trick, tip or hack–can include a how-to tip from your cookbook or straight from the author’s kitchen, including an image or video to explain the tip.
  3. Video Address: Hit record and share your thoughts on one of the three below relevant topics in 1 minute or less:
    • How do you think cookbooks bring Canadians together?
    • Tell us of a recipe that you once found in a cookbook that ended up becoming a family recipe.
    • Why is it important for you that Canada has its own cookbook awards (Taste Canada) and how do the awards reflect/support our national culinary culture?

Submission Guidelines

    • Contributions must originate from a Taste Canada shortlisted author, 1997 to present.
    • Publishers may submit work on behalf of authors with their permission, and vice versa.
    • All submissions from published books must have the permission of the publisher/author (Taste Canada will provide a release form upon content approval)
