Taste Canada is a not-for-profit founded in 1998. More than just recipes, cookbooks reveal Canada\u2019s unique history, culture, and diversity.<\/p>\n<h2>87 cookbooks entered. 17 Gold &amp; Silver Winners.<\/h2>\n<p>This year,\u00a087\u00a0cookbooks\u00a0entered the competition and the shortlist announced earlier in the year narrowed the competition to a maximum of 5 entries per category. The\u00a017 gold and silver\u00a0award winners were revealed at the Taste Canada Awards Gala on Monday, November 7<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, co-hosted by Madame Labriski and Steven Hellmann.<\/p>\n<h3>2022 Hall of Fame Awards<\/h3>\n<p>The 2022 Hall of Fame Awards were also presented by the Culinary Historians of Canada. The award goes to authors of a stellar culinary book or body of work that has had a lasting impact on Canadian cuisine. \u2060The first inductee is the late Savella Stechishin (1903\u20132002). Stechishin, author of Traditional Ukrainian Cookery (1957), is still internationally acknowledged as the definitive English-language guide for Ukrainian cooking. The second inductee this year is Micheline Mongrain-Dontigny.
