In June, the shortlist was announced, narrowing the competition to a maximum of five entries per category.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On November 14, 2021, the Gold and Silver award winners were revealed during the Taste Canada Awards Virtual Ceremony, which streamed on the Taste Canada Facebook page. The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">awards ceremony was hosted by chef Shahir Massoud and cookbook author Ariane Par\u00e9-Le Gal.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text dp_text_size=&#8221;size-3&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Congratulations to all the winning authors! Taste Canada is proud to support and celebrate the work of culinary writers across Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_text_separator title=&#8221;Hall of Fame&#8221; color=&#8221;green&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text dp_text_size=&#8221;size-4&#8243;]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also inducted two well-deserving Canadian food personalities into the 2021 Taste Canada Hall of Fame, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">presented by the Culinary Historians of Canada<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The first 2021 inductee is the late Noorbanu Nimji, a celebrated cookbook author who passed away in 2020. Teams were each made up of two full-time culinary students from a dedicated Canadian culinary program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each team created their own unique dish following the Cooks the Books criteria with a \u201cCanadian Focus with Global Influence\u201d theme to celebrate the foods grown and produced in Canada and our unique diversity. A recipe is made up of so much more than just the ingredients used to create a dish. The techniques, equipment and presentation all play a role in the final experience.
